Today we’ve got some sexy house from the new label Shiny Disco Club based in Lyon, France. I’ve had my eye on LeBatman for a little while, and they’ve released a ton of edits and remixes for download on their page.

Right now it’s all about Kartell, aka Thomas Thierry from Centre, France. The first track Le Jaunnesse Retrouvée is a slow sexy deep disco groove, second is Desire Focus, a classic filter house track with glitchy cuts around a sexy guitar hook.

So, after taking two months off to recover from the debauchery (and head injury) of the first Dirty South Disco, we’re ready to do it again.  This time we’re heading out to Bushwick to get even dirtier at Beauty Bar.  It’s going down for free on Friday, July 30th.

If you weren’t at the first Dirty South Disco, it’s basically a dance party that takes it’s influence from our place of origin… Atlanta.  From James Brown to Gucci Mane, Little Richard to The Black Lips… and then anything else we just think is dirty.

Lil Ray has given me five tracks that fit into her newer dirty club category… I’ll be following up later this week and next with my picks for the night.

… it seems as if I’ve been reminded of why I really need to be out at shows a few times a week.  That reminder is the band ZAZA.  They opened for Snowden at Glasslands on Friday.  Although I never made it inside for their set due to the fact it was about 105 degrees inside Glasslands, their sound caught my attention as it drifted out into the street.  Then, as everyone came out drenched in sweat, I overheard lots of comments on how great they were.

So, here I am listening to their 2009 EP Cameo and I couldn’t even wait for it to finish to start this post.  ZAZA does dreamy shoegaze without being coma inducing.  The drums and punchy melodic basslines have just enough drive to have you swaying your body and bobbing your head… all while staring at the floor.
